THERE HAS been a raft of appointments to Middletons for the new financial year, with two joining the partnership, one becoming a special counsel and a dozen more as senior associates. The new partners are David Hope and Lee Mitchell, while Becki Tam has risen to special counsel.
Fellow partner Lee is a member of the corporate and commercial team in Melbourne. He has more than 12 years’ corporate advisory experience with particular expertise in equity capital markets, takeovers, schemes of arrangement, corporate reorganisations and restructures, joint ventures, equity incentive arrangements and corporate governance. Mitchell also provides corporate and commercial advice in connection with regulatory compliance and the day-to-day business activities of his clients.
In the Sydney office’s capital markets division, Tam has a decade of corporate and commercial advisory experience. Her particular expertise is in private equity and initial public offering capital raisings, venture capital investments and mergers and acquisitions. Tam provides commercial advice in connection with the listing rules and corporations law for clients in a range of business sectors and markets.
The new senior associates are Amanda Pun, banking and finance; Carlyna Chhen, property and development; Emma Dawes, Karin Lee, Kate Haigh, Sheila Johns and Sylvia Ng, commercial litigation; Jenny Lau, Melanie Twomey, Pierre Lau and Tom McAvaney, corporate and commercial; and Kristine Thomas, workplace relations and safety.
