Global litigation finance and ESG business expands international reach
A former Supreme Court of Western Australia and Federal Court of Australia judge has moved into a role with a global litigation finance and ESG business.

Woodsford announced Justice Michael Barker, along with former BigLaw Australian lawyer Hugh Tait, would be joining the business. They join United States lawyer Deborah Mazer and London lawyers Diane Chisomu and Oscar Moore.
Justice Barker was a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia from 2002 to 2009 and the president of the State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia from its foundation in 2005 until 2009. Between 2009 and 2019, Justice Barker was also a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.
Prior to moving to England, Australian-qualified lawyer Mr Tait was employed at HWL Ebsworth. He specialises in class/collective actions and large-scale disputes.
