National law firm expands in Canberra
Australian Family Lawyers has announced its expansion in Canberra, with a new office to open in Belconnen.

The new office will service clients from the entire north of Canberra, with a particular focus on the areas of Belconnen and Gungahlin, which have a combined population of over 175,000 residents.
“In 18 months, we have grown our Canberra presence from a startup to a high growth office which already supports five fee earners,” he said.
The expansion follows the acquisition of NSW-based family law firm Watts McCray in March this year, which the firm said made it the largest family practice in Australia. In June, AFL continued its growth, with the acquisition of Melbourne-based Kordos Lawyers, a firm which previously serviced more than 150 clients a year and generated an annual revenue stream of $2.5 million.
“The Strong Law acquisition coupled with the integration of Watts McCray’s Canberra business into AFL has seen our growth further escalate, supported by a great take up on digital clients and a broader awareness of our brand in the ACT market,” Mr Dearlove added.
“The North Canberra segment is one that has very few family lawyers practicing and with this expansion we have another opportunity to quickly exercise our digital strategy and grow our market share in another fast-growing region.”
