According to a statement provided by Mills Oakley, Mr Hassan represents a broad range of clients including ASX-listed and private companies, prominent individuals, banking and financial institutions, investment companies, real estate investment trusts, brokerage houses, security firms, manufacturers and distributors, partners of professional services firms and medical organisations.
The firm described him as being highly regarded for “resolving client challenges and delivering legally and commercially sound outcomes”.
“Deren’s outstanding reputation and expertise in property disputes is a timely addition to our offering,” Mills Oakley chief executive John Nerurker said.
“Other areas, such as insolvency & restructuring, are also experiencing increased client demand and will be another area for strategic expansion at Mills Oakley.”
Commenting on his new role, Mr Hassan said he looks forward to growing his practice at Mills Oakley.
“Mills Oakley not only enjoys an excellent reputation in the commercial dispute resolution space, it also has a strong front-end leasing capability which is an ideal complement for my back-end specialisation,” he said.
“I feel fortunate to be joining a dynamic firm offering such strong practice synergies.”
