DLA PHILLIPS Fox insurance partner, Peter Leman, has been appointed as a director and board member of the Australia New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).

ANZIIF provides education and professional development services to the insurance and financial services industries, and Leman is the first New Zealand lawyer to be appointed as a director. He is also the president of the New Zealand Branch Executive Committee of the ANZIIF.

An insurance litigator with more than 20 years’ experience, Leman’s practice covers all areas of insurance as well as advising on underwriting and regulatory areas. He has particular expertise in the liability area, handling claims for a wide variety of construction and real estate professionals.

Leman said that his key objective for both his ANZIIF roles was to help maintain a strong New Zealand focus at a time of increased regulation of the sector in the country.
