Sheranga Fernando has been welcomed into the EY Law real estate team, one of the many appointments made within the legal arm as part of its investment into high-quality law partners with extensive credentials in key growth areas.

Sydney-based founding partner of EY Law’s real estate law practice, Astrid Beemster, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Sheranga to our growing real estate law practice. Melbourne is a key market for real estate, and Sheranga’s outstanding skillset and deep client relationships will be a huge complement to EY Law.”

Mr Fernando, a former KWM senior lawyer, specialises in real estate development, financing, investment, joint ventures and commercial leasing, in addition to general corporate and project financing. As a real estate specialist, he has acted for domestic and international developers, investors, fund managers and financiers.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Fernando said: “[It is an opportunity] to be part of a dynamic and fast-growing law practice and collaborate with market-leading teams at EY, such as real estate advisory and capital and debt advisory, to provide qualitative high quality client service.”

Speaking of his commencement, EY Oceania law leader Kirsty Keating said that they are “delighted to have Sheranga join our high growth, high energy EY Law practice in Melbourne.”
