SILK Laser Australia acquires skin and cosmetics group

Listed specialist clinical network SILK has been advised on its acquisition of Australian Skin Clinics and The Cosmetic Clinic, accompanied by a capital raise and establishment of new debt facilities.

Firm: Kain Lawyers (SILK Laser Australia).

Deal: Kain Lawyers has advised ASX-listed SILK Laser Australia (ASX: SLA) on its $52 million acquisition of Australian Skin Clinics and The Cosmetic Clinic, together with a $20 million capital raise and the establishment of $30 million in new debt facilities.

Value: $52 million acquisition.

Area: M&A.

Key players: The Kain team was led by directors Gerry Cawson and Jacob Thomas, who were supported by James Burchnall, Michael Chrisohoou and Rebecca Halkett, with “significant involvement” from Sam Christie, Stuart Jackson, James Linton and Taylor Moore.

Deal significance: Speaking about the acquisition, Mr Cawson said: “We are thrilled to have advised SILK on this important deal.

“We’ve worked with the SILK team on several transactions over the years, and we are delighted to have advised them on their first major acquisition and capital raising since listing on the ASX. We look forward to continuing to play a role in SILK’s growth strategy in the years to come.”
