Chair of listed firm to retire
The chairman of intellectual property firm IPH Limited intends to retire in November.
Richard Grellman AM has advised the board of IPH that he intends to retire as chair from said board, at the conclusion of the company’s annual general meeting, which is set to be held in November of this year.
The board of IPH has undertaken a formal process to select and appoint a new chair.
In the time that Mr Grellman has been chair, IPH successfully listed in November 2014, acquired intellectual property businesses Fisher Adams Kelly, Callinans and Pizzeys Patent, Trade Mark Attorneys, Practice Insight, Cullens Patent, Hong Kong-based Ella Cheong Limited and its subsidiary, New Zealand-based AJ Park, and Xenith IP Group (including Glasshouse Advisory, Griffith Hack, Shelston IP and Watermark).
Also in that time, Spruson & Ferguson – which the company acquired prior to its listing – merged with Cullens and Fisher Adams Kelly Callinans to form one combined firm operating under the Spruson & Ferguson brand and integrated Watermark into Griffith Hack.
Mr Grellman oversaw IPH becoming an ASX 200 company, it said in its statement, “with a market capitalisation of approximately $1.5 billion”.
