MALLESONS STEPHEN Jaques has appointed insurance law specialist Ann Newbrun as a special counsel in its Sydney office.

Newbrun has joined the firm from Ebsworth & Ebsworth, and brings with her considerable experience providing corporate, commercial and regulatory advice to the general insurance and reinsurance sectors, their intermediaries and industry bodies.

This experience has included advising on acquisitions, portfolio transfers and the sale and distribution of insurance including the setting up of distribution arrangements and promotional campaigns. This has involved her advising extensively on FSR issues, trade practices issues and compliance with insurance specific legalisation.
