KELLY & CO Lawyers has boosted its energy and resources expertise following the appointment of Peter Holden as a consultant.

Holden joins Kelly & Co with more than 20 years’ experience in the energy and resources sector, working predominantly in-house for a range of companies, both in Australia and overseas, including BHP, Enterprise Oil plc, Santos and Newmont Asia Pacific. He is also currently the president of AMPLA — the Resources and Energy Law Association.

While at Newmont, Holden was director of legal affairs and managed several large transactions, including the restructure of Newmont’s holding in the $1.5 million Boddington gold project.

He also has considerable international experience including working with Enterprises Oil in London. There he worked with the company’s international division operations in Romania and Bulgaria, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia, and with its Western Europe division operations in the North Sea and Atlantic Margin.
