Peabody sells Millennium coal mine

MetRes has purchased metallurgical coal mine Millennium in Queensland from Peabody.

Firm: Johnson Winter & Slattery (Peabody).

Deal: Peabody has been advised on its sale of the Millennium coal mine, located near Moranbah, Queensland, to MetRes, a 50/50 joint venture between ASX-listed Stanmore Coal and M Resources.

Value: Undisclosed.

Area: Resources.

Key players: The JWS team was led by partners Bruce Adkins and Stuart Clague, who were supported by partner Craig Wappett, senior associate Jarrod Wilksch and associate Haerim Nam.

Deal significance: Mr Clague said: “Having worked with Peabody for the last decade, we are delighted to have advised Peabody on the sale of the Millennium coal mine to Stanmore and M Resources.”
