GILBERT + TOBIN has added to its pool of corporate finance and taxation expertise, having recently lured across top lawyers from Freehills and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

John Schembri joins G+T as a partner after 18 years at Freehills and will head up the firm’s corporate finance team. Schembri’s areas of expertise are structures and project financing and acquisition financing. He also has considerable experience in financing construction and resources projects, property acquisition and general corporate financing.

Meanwhile Peter Feros moves across from PWC to lead the firm’s corporate taxation team. Feros has more than 13 years experience advising Australian-listed and foreign multinational companies on Australian corporate taxation across a range of industries including telecommunications, technology, entertainment, media, consumer product, industrial produce and property.
