Johnson Winter & Slattery has welcomed the extensive experience of Darren Grondal, a lawyer with over 30 years of expertise in competition law, infrastructure and access regulation. He will provide specialist expertise to the firm’s clients operating in the gas, electricity, water, rail, port, transport and mining sectors.

Managing partner Peter Slattery said the firm was excited to welcome Mr Grondal and his experience: “Darren has built a strong reputation in the West Australian market for his specialist experience and deep industry know-how.

“We have one of the largest and most widely experienced energy and resources teams in Australia. His expertise will complement the team and provide unique insights,” he said.

Prior to joining JWS, Mr Grondal co-founded boutique practice Grondal Bruining where he served as the inaugural managing director. Prior, he was partner at Ashurst

Mr Grondal’s work in competition law covers restrictive trade practices. His experience includes access regulation, ranging across federal and state regimes and across port, electricity, rail and gas infrastructures. He also regularly advises on administrative law, statutory interpretation, economic and market infrastructure and commercial law.
