Carroll & O’Dea makes 11 elevations for annual promotions round
Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers has made 11 promotions across the firm for the new financial year.

The firm has welcomed a new partner to the partnership with an additional special counsel, five senior associate and four associate promotions.
“Our people are our greatest asset and on behalf of the entire firm I would like to congratulate all our new appointments on their personal achievements and successes that have been recognised in this round of promotions,” said managing partner Hanaan Indari.
Joshua Dale who joined Caroll & O’Dea in 2014 is promoted to partner.
Mr Dale’s practice is in the area of litigation and dispute resolution including personal injury litigation, estate and family provision matters and royal commission-related matters and is an accredited specialist in personal injury.
As the current Australian Lawyers Alliance NSW president his passion for human rights has underpinned his career representing clients in personal injury, royal commission and estate litigation matters and is currently exploring the rights of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) recipients.
With a keen interest in international law, he has also successfully recovered significant compensation for a paraplegic client who was injured on a cruise ship in a foreign jurisdiction.
Mr Dale has also previously brought a human rights case against the Australian government for breaches of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on behalf of 295 military veterans who were exposed to harmful radiation in the 1950s and 1960s during British nuclear testing.
In addition to Mr Dale, Lucinda Gunning is promoted to special counsel. Hayley Aldrich, Dexter Cabal, Charles Harrison, Jelena Prodanovic and Dane Twohill were promoted to senior associate.
Justine Anderson, Elizabeth Edgar, Laura Flanagan and Aleisha Nair round up the associate elevations.
The appointments for 1 July are a part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to diversity, renewal and regeneration as an investment in the future.
“In fostering and encouraging our talent we are continuing to build a strong team and workplace culture that will support the [firm] in our 121st year and beyond,” said Ms Indari.
“As the [firm’s] new [managing partner] I am particularly pleased that more than half our appointments are for women recognising the breadth and depth of the skill and expertise of our team.”
