The University of New South Wales (UNSW) has announced its service CPD Direct in partnership with professional development and training marketplace GO1. The service will allow practitioners to get personalised relevant CPD delivered each month.

The service is delivered to practitioners based on their practice areas and the number of years spent working in the area. It will cover mandatory units and knowledge on top of being designed specifically with engagement from experts in the field.

UNSW Edge, part of UNSW Law, director Sharmaine Gewohn said: “This partnership with GO1 has allowed us to look to the future of education. This project was developed over the last 12 months and will provide new ways of learning for lawyers. It is aligned with the university’s commitment to being at the forefront of lifelong learning.”

“Lawyers are increasingly emphasising the need for flexible learning in an efficient and secure environment, in their own time and across different devices.

“CPD Direct gives them this capability.”

GO1 director of strategy Daniel Fish said the “groundbreaking” model was created in light of UNSW Edge’s innovation in continuing professional development.

“The vision and leadership demonstrated by UNSW Edge to elevate its offering of the lifelong learning are second to none,” Mr Fish said. “GO1 is honoured to play a part in their success.”

All profits generated from the course will go towards UNSW Law’s social justice.

“UNSW Law has always been a strong advocate for social justice, such as in helping grow the pool of Indigenous students who graduate from university,” said Ms Gewohn.

“We are determined to do more for those in the community who need assistance, especially students who face financial barriers to their education. We’re very pleased to be able to tap into our partnership with GO1 to help bolster social justice initiatives.”
