Michael Burrows and Craig van der Hoven have both been hired by Creevey Russell, with the former to head up the firm’s crime and misconduct division.

Mr Burrows was formerly a partner with Northern Territory criminal law firm Maley & Burrows as well as special counsel for Nyst Legal and Armstrong Legal in Queensland.

Principal Dan Creevey said that Mr Burrows “has has practised extensively throughout Australia and has conducted many complex criminal cases in South-East Asia”.

Speaking about Mr van der Hoven, Mr Creevey said that he “also has extensive criminal law experience. We look forward to Michael and Craig’s contribution to the firm’s crime and misconduct division, which also includes Isabella King, Samantha Robinson and Daniel Creevey.”

The firm, Mr Creevey continued, is “determined to offer a point of difference in dealing with criminal justice matters.

“At Creevey Russell we are able to help clients across every aspect of criminal and regulatory prosecutions, including matters which are still at an investigatory stage, and we have an enviable track record of achieving successful results,” he said.

“Our crime and misconduct team deals with matters such as drug and traffic offences, domestic violence and protection orders, weapons licensing issues, workplace health and safety prosecutions, gas prosecutions as well as high-profile criminal matters.

“We have offices in Brisbane, Toowoomba and Roma with the ability to service clients in regional areas of Queensland and appearing for them anywhere in Australia.”
