The Australian firm has promoted Craig Gibson to principal and Carlos Barros to special counsel.

Mr Gibson joined Macpherson Kelley in 2017, bringing with him experience in property development and the not-for-profit sector. On the tax side, he has advised on numerous CGT, GST, stamp duty and land tax matters, while in the not-for-profit space, he has advised educational institutions, charities and religious institutions.

Meanwhile, Mr Barros joined Macpherson Kelley in 2018, after leaving his role as a senior ATO executive. He specialises in property development, managed investment schemes, foreign investment and inbound transactions, multinational tax structuring and managing tax disputes.

“Craig and Carlos are outstanding tax lawyers,” said Macpherson Kelley CEO Steve Parker.

Their experience and dedication to delivering for clients made promoting them an easy decision.”
