Brett Connor has joined the team from FPA Patent Attorneys, where he was a consultant and principal, bringing with him 30 years of patent experience across Australia, Singapore, and Japan.

Prior to this, he spent over a decade as a partner at Freehills.

Mr Connor has extensive expertise in the mining and materials industries, mechanical engineering, chemical processing and medical device industries, according to the firm.

Spruson & Ferguson said his practical and commercial approach to patent maters and their application in the business world is widely sought after with clients that includes some of Australia’s largest companies and research organisations.

The recent hire of Mr Connor further strengthens Spruson & Ferguson’s service offering and aligns with the business’ growth plans in the Victorian market, a statement said.
