McInnes has confirmed that it has acquired Clarke Legal – a Melbourne boutique which acts for licensees in Commonwealth workers’ compensation and public liability matters. The move sees Clarke Legal take on the McInnes Wilson Lawyers namesake, with the combined firm comprising a 280 strong practice, including 41 partners, across eight office locations.

“Consolidating our offering was an opportunity to broaden our service offering to clients and continue the firm’s growth,” said McInnes Wilson Chairman Paul Tully.

“Clients aren’t focused on how big you are or what tier you might be in; they focus on how well you can deliver a service. In joining forces with Clarke Legal, we are enhancing the legal services and value for our clients in Melbourne and Australia-wide.

“Clarke Legal and McInnes Wilson are a great cultural fit, with shared values and an aligned approach to the service of clients.”

Clarke Legal founder and director Damian Clarke offered a similar sentiment.

“We’re delighted to be joining McInnes Wilson Lawyers. It offers the opportunity to enhance and expand services to our clients,” Mr Clarke said.

“It is a proud moment in the evolution of Clarke Legal, and I know this change will allow us to build on the strengths of our existing practice and relationships.”
