Mid-tier promotes commercial lawyer
The talent of one Sydney lawyer has been recognised with a promotion to special counsel.

Macpherson Kelley has announced the promotion of Sofia Haikalis (pictured) to special counsel in its Sydney office.
The lawyer has been with the firm’s commercial team since 2008 and previously worked as an associate at Peter Kemp Solicitors.
Commenting on Ms Haikalis’ new role, Macpherson Kelley managing director Damian Paul described her as part of the firm’s leadership.
“Sofia’s approach and dedication to her clients is outstanding to see. We understand how important clients are to a law firm, so it is outstanding to see such a great focus on clients from our leadership group,” he said.
Ms Haikalis is a graduate of the University of Technology Sydney, where she obtained degrees in business and law in 1999.
