According to a statement from Meridian, Mr Saxton served on the DibbsBarker board for eight years and was chair between 2012 and 2016.

He was also previously a partner at Ebsworth & Ebsworth, now HWL Ebsworth.

Throughout his career, Mr Saxton has assisted health professionals and organisations in responding to professional indemnity claims, disciplinary proceedings and Medicare investigations, as well as appearing as an advocate at coronial inquests.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Andrew, who is a longstanding friend and former colleague of many at Meridian, as well as an exceptional lawyer with a reputation for integrity and compassion, to our leading insurance legal team,” said Meridian managing principal Paul Baker.
