Trio of senior appointments at global firm
A global law firm has announced the election of a new Australian chair and two management committee members.

Baker McKenzie announced yesterday that Bruce Hambrett (pictured) has been elected as chair of its Australian arm. The firm also announced the election of Andrew Salgo and re-election of Astrid Raetze to its management committee.
“It is an honour to be chosen to serve as the Australian chair of Baker McKenzie and I want to acknowledge the incredible legacy of my predecessor, Chris Saxon, in taking the firm to new heights in his tenure,” Mr Hambrett said.
“Chris has been an outstanding chair and the firm has achieved so much over the time in which he has served in the role so diligently.”
Mr Salgo has joined Baker McKenzie’s Australian management committee and will continue in his role as chair of the risk and quality committee.
Ms Raetze has been re-elected to her position on the management committee. She is also the firm’s head of Australian financial services, head of global fintech and head of global derivatives.
Baker McKenzie appointed Anthony Foley as Australian managing partner in February. He replaced Chris Freeland on 1 April, when Mr Freeland commenced as managing director, Asia-Pacific.
