Mr Keighran (pictured) left his role at Jones Day to join the Colin Biggers & Paisley property team and lead its national hotels, tourism and hospitality group.

In addition to working nationally, he will expand the firm's existing Middle Eastern practice through continuing to work closely with clients based in the Middle East, and with Australian clients seeking to enter that market.

Colin Biggers & Paisley has been present in the legal market in the UAE for a number of years through its close association with Dubai and Abu Dhabi-based firm Lutfi & Co.

“Duane is an exceptional lawyer in the hotels and tourism space and has a leading reputation in the Middle East, which is fast translating to the local market,” said Chris Rumore, head of Colin Biggers & Paisley's property group.

“We are excited to have Duane join us to further build our focus on the hospitality and tourism markets nationally, and to give us further depth in our traditional practice areas of property development and investment.”

Colin Biggers & Paisley recently appointed special counsel Louise Edmonds and partner David Giacomantonio.

The firm also recently suffered the loss of five construction lawyers, one secretary and one business developer to Gadens in Brisbane.
