Construction partner joins national leadership team
A commercial firm has announced the appointment of a new projects and construction partner in its Sydney office.

Stephen Byrne (pictured) has joined the Johnson Winter & Slattery (JWS) projects and construction group as a new partner, after leaving his post as principal of the projects, infrastructure and finance group at Allion Legal.
A statement released by JWS described its new partner as a “highly regarded construction, energy and infrastructure lawyer”. Throughout his career, Mr Byrne has acted as general counsel for a number of organisations in the infrastructure sector.
JWS managing partner Peter Slattery said the commercial firm’s expanding projects and construction team would benefit from Mr Byrne’s expertise.
“The recruitment of Stephen is consistent with our strategy to develop a national projects and construction capability and deepen our credentials to vie for construction projects and disputes. This is a strong area of focus for the firm,” Mr Slattery said.
JWS recruited employment lawyer Lucienne Mummé from rival firm Thomson Geer in July.
