After 17 months as CEO of personal injury compensation law firm Shine Lawyers, Courtney Petersen (pictured), has been appointed managing director of Shine Corporate Ltd, while maintaining her role as CEO.

ASX-listed Shine Lawyers is a subsidiary of Shine Corporate.

As of 24 August 2016, Ms Petersen replaced the outgoing Simon Morrison who is taking on an executive director position after almost three decades with the company.

Ms Petersen has extensive executive and strategic experience, having spent more than 20 years in senior roles with companies such as Aurizon, Queensland Rail, Tabcorp and Telstra.

Shine Corporate chairman Tony Bellas said the board specifically recruited Ms Peterson as part of its succession planning for the managing director role.

“As CEO of Shine Lawyers, Courtney has demonstrated her capability in strategic and transformational delivery to best position the company for growth into the future and her personal style reflects the commitment and passion necessary for delivering the best outcome for our clients and shareholders,” Mr Bellas said.

“The board congratulates Courtney on her appointment. She has a strong pedigree in successfully leading and optimising businesses and is a highly capable successor to Simon.”
