ICC welcomes Corrs CEO to leadership
John Denton AO, the CEO and partner of global firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth, has been elected to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) leadership.

Mr Denton (pictured) has been elected to the position of first vice-president of the ICC at its world council, held in Brazil. He replaces Sunil Bharti Mittal who took on the role of ICC chairman this month.
Mr Denton said he looked forward to representing the interests of global business in his new capacity.
“ICC is an important organisation for businesses around the world, promoting international trade and investment and encouraging international collaboration to give the business community a voice in international policy,” Mr Denton said.
“My role on the ICC board allows me to represent Australia in these global discussions, strengthening our commercial ties and ensuring economic growth in Australia is on the agenda,” he added.
The ICC is the largest business organisation in the world. With more than 6.5 million members in over 130 countries, it plays a central role in international trade and business. Among some of the groups it works with are intergovernmental bodies including the UN, the World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
ICC secretary general John Danilovich said: “I look forward to working with John in his new ICC leadership role. I have no doubt his experience and perspective will be an invaluable asset to our world business organisation and its work on behalf of the global business community.”
In addition to his ICC roles, Mr Denton is one of two original members of the B20, the business reference group of the G20, and was also a member of the Australian B20 Leadership Group.
