Mr Palmer (pictured) will be heading the firm's wills and estates group.

“Helping grow the wills and estates practice is a primary focus and in this respect I bring to the team experience at an in-house and private practice level,” Mr Palmer said.

“Mills Oakley has such a strong brand and reputation and the opportunity to be part of a national firm with practices areas which complement and align with my specialisation is something I’m really looking forward to.

“I’m excited to be joining Mills Oakley at a time of rapid growth within the private advisory team and the broader firm,” he added.

Prior to 2014, Mr Palmer worked for NAB representing high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on matters including succession of related corporates, self-managed super funds and trust structures. He has worked in estate planning, administration and trustee arrangements for the past 16 years.

Mr Palmer is also an accredited wills and estates specialist with the Law Institute of Victoria.

Earlier this month, Mills Oakley attracted Canberra-based construction partner Steven Gavagna and his entire team of lawyers from Goodman Law.

The firm also welcomed two departing partners and three lawyers from national firm Gadens, in addition senior associates from DLA Piper and Sparke Helmore in March.
