Partner leaves national for boutique
Paul Jayne has left a national firm to take up the role of partner and head of environment, planning and government at Madison Marcus.

Madison Marcus appointed Mr Jayne (pictured) from HWL Ebsworth.
In total, Mr Jayne has more than 20 years’ experience in the power generation and construction industries and more than 12 years of post-admission experience.
He acts for developers, business owners, local government authorities, state government, energy providers, mining companies and land owners. He has extensive litigation experience in NSW Local, Land and Environment and Supreme Courts and both the High Court and NSW Administrative Tribunals.
He specialises in major project developments, local and state government regulatory and governance practice, public-private partnerships, probity and governance, litigation and mediation of development projects, regulatory enforcement and prosecutions, due diligence and compulsory acquisition.
Madison Marcus group managing director Bechara Shamieh said he is “delighted to have Paul join the partnership”.
“Paul has a unique skill set that distinguishes him from his peers, combining hands-on engineering experience and more than a decade as a practising environment and planning lawyer,” Mr Shamieh said.
