Thomas Russell has come on board Piper Alderman as a partner in its national dispute resolution practice team.

Mr Russell specialises in insolvency-related work, including advice to company boards, liquidators, receivers, administrators and bankruptcy trustees.

His specific expertise includes voidable transaction claims, remuneration and priority issues, statutory and regulatory compliance and stakeholder negotiations.

He is also a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association, the Turnaround Management Association, the Asian Australian Lawyers Association and WINA (NSW).

Simon Morris, Piper Alderman’s head of the dispute resolution team, said Mr Russell would strengthen the disputes team, and praised his “strategic thinking, tenacity and commerciality”.

Piper Alderman has made a number of hires recently, including a banking and finance team of three lawyers from Hunt & Hunt.
