Veteran lawyer takes on new role
National child protection organisation Bravehearts has appointed Queensland lawyer Angelo Venardos as CEO.

Mr Venardos (pictured) has practised law for the last 25 years, most recently as special counsel at Ferguson Cannon Lawyers in Brisbane.
Bravehearts educates children about sexual assault and also trains organisations about how to deal with those issues. The organisation also helps victims of sexual assault tell their story to the Royal Commission.
Mr Venardos was previously board chairman for Bravehearts, and has now effectively swapped roles with the former CEO and Bravehearts founder Hetty Johnston AM, who has taken up the role of board chairman.
Mrs Johnston said Mr Venardos would bring a fresh dynamic to the position and the ability to create new opportunities and corporate partnerships.
“Angelo comes to the position with exceptional credentials following years as a respected legal professional. He has a strong sense of civil justice and leadership,” she said.
His role will be to oversee operations and spearhead continued expansion.
