Lynch Meyer Lawyers’ appointment of Malinda Kuo as partner has helped the firm expand its reach to China.
The South Australian firm has boosted its partnership by welcoming commercial lawyer Ms Kuo (pictured), who speaks fluent Mandarin.
Lynch Meyer Lawyers’ chair of partners Michael Hutton said: “There is only a handful of Mandarin-speaking senior lawyers in South Australia and we’re pleased to have this opportunity.”
He continued: “She will bring a great deal of energy to growing our firm’s market to Australian companies dealing with China, and Chinese companies investing in South Australia.”
Ms Kuo is the secretary of the China Business Network of SA Inc and the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce Industry Inc.
“Service providers are increasingly demanding Mandarin-speaking employees to assist them with bridging the culture differences and the language barriers in order to tap into the world’s biggest market: China,” Ms Kuo said.
“More and more people are studying Mandarin, and recently jobs are advertised requiring Mandarin-speaking skills. This trend is across the board in all industries, including the legal industry.”
