David Howarth has moved from Gadens Lawyers to Sparke's commercial insurance team.

Mr Howarth is taking on the role of special counsel in Sparke Helmore’s commercial insurance group, bringing with him many years of experience in resolving complex personal injury claims, coronial inquests, and defending government agencies.

Sparke Helmore partner James Johnson said: “[David’s] expertise makes him a fantastic addition to our growing insurance team, and I look forward to working with David in the future.”

The firm's insurance practice took a hit in recent months when partner Rhett Slocombe and a team of 28 other lawyers left the firm for Hall & Wilcox.

Kerry Haddock joined the firm’s insurance group earlier this month and the firm recently appointed a new chairman Mark Hickey.
