Mr Howell (pictured) has experience in domestic and cross-border transactions and has previously worked for Herbert Smith Freehills in Australia and Norton Rose Fulbright in London.

He has advised clients on financing structures, private equity and leveraged finance, debt restructurings and workouts and asset and structured property finance.

“[Mr Howell’s] appointment adds great depth to our existing team specialising in this area,” said Grant Scott-Hayward, Gadens CEO, in Melbourne.

Mr Howell said he was attracted to Gadens because the firm has a strong national banking practice and good relationships with major players in the market.

“The firm's strong strategic outlook and collaborative and supportive firm culture were areas that were of particular interest to me as well,” he said. “I have no doubt that the opportunities presented from the move will result in a rewarding career.”
