Former head of Ashurst and ASIC to chair mental health foundation
Alan Cameron AO has been appointed as the new chair of the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation (TJMF).

He replaces Keith Mason AC QC, former president of the Court of Appeal of NSW.
He also served as chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission from 1993 to 2000.
Today, he primarily works as a company director and as an adviser on corporate governance and regulatory issues.
In accepting the role, Mr Cameron said his predecessor, Mr Mason, chaired TJMF through “a remarkably successful period in raising awareness of depression and anxiety in the legal profession”.
During his term as chairman, Mr Mason drove the launch of the TJMF Psychological Wellbeing: Best Practice Guidelines for the Legal Profession, which currently has 88 signatories including most major Australian firms.
Mr Cameron claimed the guidelines were “unquestionably the most important initiative undertaken to address the issue of wellbeing in the legal profession”.
“[TJMF] is the heart of a great profession whereby people care, respect and support one another,” he added.
The Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation is an independent volunteer, charitable organisation.
The foundation’s objective is to decrease work-related psychological ill health in the legal community and to promote workplace psychological health and safety.
