Taxing times for Allens
King & Wood Mallesons has recruited a former Allens tax partner to work in its Brisbane office.

Katrina Parkyn specialises in corporate tax, stamp duty and GST issues across a broad range of industries and transactions.
Head of tax Justin Cherrington said KWM was delighted to welcome Ms Parkyn to the practice.
“Katrina’s appointment follows the addition of two new partners to our national tax practice in 2014," Mr Cherrington said. "Appointing a dedicated Brisbane-based tax partner is the natural step to meet growing local demand.”
Partner in charge of the Brisbane office John Swinson commented on the appointment, saying, “[Katrina] adds to our list of top-calibre partners who are all leaders in their respective fields.”
In November last year, Allens lost the head of its national workplace and employee relations team to KWM and a senior industrial relations partner moved to PwC.
That same month, former managing partner at Henry Davis York Sharon Cook left to join KWM.
