Managing Partner of Walsh Halligan Douglas Matt McCormick has departed the firm.
Jack Power, who has been a Partner of the firm since 1989 and will take the reins as Managing Partner, has applauded McCormick for his achievements whilst at the helm.
“Due to the initiatives and infrastructure put in place by Matt, the firm is now fully geared to make the most of any opportunities that come its way.
“I sincerely thank Matt for his contribution to what has been a very positive chapter in the history of the firm.
“Over the years, I have seen the firm grow from quite a narrow insurance focus to what it is now – a full service practice in a position to achieve great things,” he said.
McCormick’s departure will leave a partnership of three, including Steven Morris and Maurice Hannan. All three have been Managing Partners (Morris and Hannan at previous firms) and have played key roles in successfully running law practices.
And as for McCormick, his immediate plans are to spend time with his family whilst assessing his next steps. However those who know him well understand he is incapable of sitting still for any great length of time.
“I will always have very fond memories of my 10 years at the firm, especially the people I have had the pleasure of working with.
“Over the last 12 months in particular we have been able to achieve some remarkable results due to the firm’s clear focus on its people, clients and target markets. This is in no small part due to the extremely talented team that has been put in place,” he said.
