Financial planners to defend reputation in court

The Financial Planning Association is planning to take legal action against a financial planner for defamation and misleading and deceptive conduct.

THE Financial Planning Association is planning to take legal action against a financial planner for defamation and misleading and deceptive conduct following the publication of a controversial advertisement featuring a picture of the FPA’s chief executive, Jo-Anne Bloch. The photograph appears beside those of Richard Nixon with the caption “I am not a crook” and Bill Clinton with the caption “I did not have sex with that woman”. And the picture of Bloch accompanies a caption “FPA members inevitably put the client first”. The insinuation is obvious.
