A FORMER Queensland solicitor has been sentenced to two years in jail, wholly suspended, over his role in a solicitors’ mortgage investment scheme.

Paul Anthony Triscott, who was involved in promoting the scheme, pleaded guilty in the district Court in Queensland to six counts of dishonesty causing a detriment of approximately $184,000 to investors.

He was sentenced to two years’ jail on each charge to be served concurrently. The charges were brought by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

VIEW ALL

Triscott was struck off as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in March 2002 by the Queensland Law Society.
