Andrea Beatty, the head of the financial services and regulatory practice group at HWL Ebsworth, has quit the firm.
Beatty retired from the partnership on 27 November.
Attempts by Lawyers Weekly to contact Beatty, both directly and through her legal representatives, Harmers Workplace Lawyers, have been unsuccessful.
Beatty’s departure from Ebsworth is the latest in a series of high-profile partner movements among Australia’s leading law firms.
In October, Lawyers Weekly exclusively broke the story that the high-profile Allen & Overy duo, Dave Poddar and Angela Flannery, had left the firm.
In the past few years, HWL Ebsworth has aggressively expanded, opening an office in Canberra and poaching partners, such as Beatty, from top-tier and global law firms.
Prior to joining HWL Ebsworth in 2009, Beatty was a partner for more than a decade at King & Wood Mallesons.
Beatty’s replacement as the head of the financial services and regulatory practice group is Stephen Cavanagh.
Between 1998 and 2012, HWL Ebsworth’s annual revenue has risen from just over $4 million to over $140 million.
