Katy Gallagher sworn in as Attorney-General
ACT Senator Katy Gallagher has this morning been sworn in as Australia’s new Attorney-General as part of Labor’s interim ministry, alongside Australia’s 31st Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Earlier this morning (Monday, 23 May 2022), Mr Albanese – who won Saturday’s federal election – was sworn in by Governor-General David Hurley as PM, alongside a handful of members of his interim ministry, prior to flying to Japan for the Quad meeting.
Senator Gallagher succeeds Senator Michaelia Cash, Liberal senator from Western Australia, as A-G.
She has also been sworn in as Minister for Finance and Minister for Women.
Others sworn in this morning include: Richard Marles MP as Deputy PM and Minister for Employment, Senator Penny Wong as Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Jim Chalmers MP as Treasurer.
