A-G Porter to focus on ‘a number of major reforms’
Christian Porter, who has been re-appointed as Attorney-General, has listed the structural reform of the family courts, establishment of an integrity commission and protection of religious freedoms as priorities for the new term of parliament.

Speaking following the announcement of the second Morrison ministry, Mr Porter said there were “a number of major reforms on the government’s agenda”, which he and his department will be working to achieve early in the 46th Parliament.
“Other policy reforms that will now have an implementation focus will be the establishment of the new Commonwealth Integrity Commission and the religious discriminations bill to protect religious freedoms.”
In addition to his re-appointment as Attorney-General, Mr Porter was also appointed the Minister for Industrial Relations as well as Leader of Government Business in the House (following the retirement of former House Leader Christopher Pyne).
“I am also looking forward as Leader of Government Business in the House of Representatives to ensuring that the Morrison government’s legislative agenda is achieved as efficiently as possible. In Industrial Relations, my initial focus will be on the law enforcement aspects of the portfolio, ensuring adherence with Australia’s industrial relations laws, particularly on building sites across Australia,” he said.
“I thank the Prime Minister for the opportunity to continue to serve the people of Australia in a senior position in the Morrison government.”
