Brockovich to speak to Qld lawyers
Environmental advocate Erin Brockovich will share her journey from single mother-of-three with no legal training, to one of the world’s most influential consumer advocates at a breakfast in Brisbane this month.
Speaking at a Queensland Law Society and Women Lawyers Association of Queensland breakfast on 31 March as part of the QLS’s 50th Anniversary Vincents’ Symposium, Brockovich will look back at the more than 18 years she has spent crusading for the rights of people and the protection of the environment, and the work she now does advising a number of law firms in the United States.
The symposium will also include keynote addresses from international human rights counsel and author Geoffrey Robertson QC and renowned Australian columnist and demographer Bernard Salt.
