Corrs Chambers Westgarth senior associate David Ulbrick has been recognised for his work in the area of construction law as the recipient of the Tom Yuncken - Young Construction Lawyer Award (Victoria) for 2011.

Sponsored by the Construction and Infrastructure Law Group (Victoria) of the Law Council of Australia, the award is judged on written submissions and interview by judges, senior counsel and various senior lawyers.

"While I'm honoured to receive the award, I recognise that the practice of the law, and particularly construction law, is a team game and I count myself as extremely fortunate to have been involved in a number of high performing teams throughout my career," said Ulbrick.

"This award is a result of the inspiration and knowledge I have gained through being part of those teams."

The biennial award is named in memory of the late Tom Yuncken who was a construction lawyer and partner of a prominent national law firm, tragically killed following a bicycle accident in 2006.
