Former Blake Dawson partners Bob Seidler and Alan Cameron have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
The former Australian and Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) chairman from 1993 to 2000, Alan Cameron was named as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO).
Appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in 1997, Cameron received further recognition for his contribution to tertiary education and the community. He was appointed as the deputy chancellor of Sydney University in 2008.
Cameron was a partner at Blakes for 12 years from 1979 to 1991, which included two years as the national managing partner. In the 1970s he spent two years as the principal solicitor of the Aboriginal Legal Service.
Like Seidler, Cameron continues to be a consultant with Blakes.
Blake Dawson chairwoman Mary Padbury said the duo were "remarkable Australians".
Blakes alumni Simon McKeon and Professor Ron McCallum were named as Australian of the Year and Senior Australian of the Year in this year's Australia Day honours.
