Sparke Helmore has taken out the Best Practice in Knowledge Management Award at the 5th Annual Lawtech Summit held in Queensland.

The Award recognises outstanding achievement in the process of collating, organising, sharing and analysing knowledge and is contested by many of the nation's leading law firms.

Sparke Helmore earned the gong for a project lead by the firm's information management team which leveraged the implementation of a new document management system in order to build a better knowledge management environment, thus delivering an integrated process to capture knowledge across the Firm.

The integration of knowledge management and document management automates a process for Sparke Helmore lawyers to contribute documents to the knowledge database. It also permits them to amend and archive existing knowledge documents without leaving the desktop environment where they perform everyday tasks.
