A legal service for homeless people launched in the ACT today will receive pro bono support from Minter Ellison.

The Street Law outreach legal service was launched by Federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland and ACT Attorney-General Simon Corbell. The service has received $540,000 in funding from the Federal and ACT Governments and will assist homeless people, or those at risk of being homeless, in areas such as debt, welfare, tenancy and domestic violence.

Street Law is a joint initiative of ACT Community Legal Centres, Legal Aid ACT and the Aboriginal Legal Service.

Minter Ellison and the Australian Government Solicitor will provide pro bono support to the service.
