Victorian barrister Tammy Young has declared that she will leave the Victorian Bar to pursue her dream of becoming a barristers' clerk at Foley's List - in a bid to pursue her interest in legal practice management.
However Foley's List is clearly pleased with Young's appointment, with a press release issued stating that it will "enhance Foley's ability to work with barristers and solicitors to resource commercial law matters".
And Young is adamant that her experience will significantly contribute to the role: "Having worked as a barrister and a solicitor I understand the needs of briefing solicitors and those of counsel," she said.
"I look forward to connecting solicitors with the Foley's List barristers across all practice areas."
Prior to signing the bar roll in 2008, Young worked as a solicitor in the commercial practice of a mid-size Melbourne firm and specialised in mergers and acquisitions, project and corporate finance, technology law and taxation.
Young was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2004 and was an associate to a Federal Court judge in 2005.
