Mallesons Stephen Jaques Shanghai partner Martyn Huckerby has been named the 2009 Young Alumni of the Year at the inaugural Australia China Alumni Awards in Beijing.

The awards, hosted by the Australia China Alumni Association (ACCA) in conjunction with CPA Australia, have been established to recognise the achievement of the Australian education alumni based in China.

Huckerby was awarded the 2009 Australian Education International (AEI) Young Alumni of the Year Award for his contribution to support links between China and Australia through his work helping PRC companies with outbound investment, Australian companies in China, and the NSW Trade Commission to set up an office in Shanghai.

Huckerby rejoined Mallesons last year from Clifford Chance, where he was responsible for developing the China Competition team. He had previously worked in the Mallesons Sydney office.
