A Master of Environmental Management has been launched by Bond University's School of Sustainable Development and will begin in 2010.
Ros Taplin, professor of environmental management at Bond University, said the degree could suit lawyers who hadn't done a major in environmental law in their undergraduate degree.
"They can learn all about the various policies and legal side of environmental management ... It would then give them the expertise to go and work in that area and build upon their basic skills in law," she said.
"One of the differentiations of the course is we offer climate change law postgraduate subjects and they are a part of this so [lawyers] could also use this in terms of the new carbon pollution reduction scheme."
A postgraduate diploma is also offered and those doing the Master's can undertake workplace internships with a company that works in the field.
