Henry Davis York partner John Currie has been awarded for his "lifetime achievement to the hedge fund industry" award at the 2009 Australian Hedge Fund Awards.

Throughout his career, Currie has become a trusted advisor to the Australian chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), including six years as honorary legal counsel and chair of the regulatory committee.

He has also played a lead role in market regulation initiatives such as lobbying the Federal Government on behalf of the hedge fund industry in relation to the recent ban on short-selling.

In addition, he is the author of Australian Futures Regulation.
